Corporate Wellness Consulting
Workplace wellness is rarely just a wellness problem.
Burnout, disengagement, communication breakdowns, declining morale, and inconsistent performance don't happen in isolation. They exist inside a human system.
I work with leaders and organizations to look beneath the visible symptoms and identify the patterns affecting how people communicate, regulate, perform, and experience the workplace.
With more than 25 years in fitness, wellness, human performance, psychology, and behavioral change — including more than a decade leading corporate wellness from inside an organization — I understand wellness from both sides.
The program matters. The human environment around it matters more.
The things we don’t measure can still become expensive.
Some of the greatest risks inside a company never appear on a spreadsheet.
A founder can't release control.
Two highly capable executives quietly stop trusting one another.
A leader's communication changes when pressure rises.
A team begins compensating for one person's behavior.
An acquisition makes financial sense while the human systems underneath the two organizations are fundamentally incompatible.
A high performer keeps trying to solve an internal problem by performing harder.
These can look like isolated problems.
Often, they're patterns.
And patterns become especially visible under pressure.
Wellness is part of the system.
A company can offer excellent benefits, fitness initiatives, wellness programs, and resources — and still have people operating in an environment that quietly works against their wellbeing.
That's why my approach to corporate wellness extends beyond programming.
I look at the human environment surrounding the program: leadership behavior, communication, stress patterns, participation, emotional regulation, workplace dynamics, and the conditions affecting whether people can actually use the resources available to them.
Depending on what an organization needs, my work may include:
Workplace wellness strategy and consulting
Leadership and human-performance education
Employee wellness experiences
Fitness and movement initiatives
Stress and emotional-regulation education
Speaking and workshops
Collaboration with trusted wellness professionals
Observation of the human patterns affecting engagement and performance
The goal isn't to add more wellness activity.
It's to understand what will actually help these particular people, inside this particular organization.
This is where I come in.
My work is diagnostic before it is prescriptive.
I listen. I observe. I ask questions. I notice what changes when certain subjects enter the conversation. I pay attention to what people say, what they avoid, what they repeatedly compensate for, and where the stated problem doesn't quite match the behavior around it.
Then I help make the invisible visible.
Depending on what we discover, my work may involve:
Leadership & Executive Dynamics
Decision-making, communication, executive presence, emotional regulation, conflict, influence, responsibility, and behavior under pressure.
Founder-Led Companies & Transitions
Founder attachment, succession, scaling, shifting authority, leadership-team dynamics, and the human consequences of organizational change.
Mergers, Acquisitions & Human Diligence
Looking beyond financial and legal diligence to examine leadership alignment, hidden loyalties, cultural friction, behavioral risk, and the human dynamics that may affect integration and enterprise durability.
Performance & Human Behavior
Understanding the patterns affecting performance, confidence, decision-making, communication, wellness, and the ability to remain effective when stakes rise.
Individual Private Consulting
Sometimes the work begins with one person who knows something isn't working — professionally or personally — but hasn't yet been able to identify the pattern beneath it.
The engagement follows the problem.
Not the other way around.
What working with me can look like:
There is intentionally no fixed consulting menu here.
Some situations require a focused diagnostic conversation.
Others reveal the need for a short private engagement, executive consulting, observation of a team or system, preparation for a high-stakes moment, or deeper work over time.
I have worked with people on leadership and executive presence, workplace dynamics, communication, emotional regulation, human performance, wellness, storytelling, visibility, behavioral patterns, and navigating periods of significant uncertainty and change.
The subjects vary.
The work underneath them is remarkably consistent:
See clearly.
Understand the pattern.
Create a different choice.
About Kathie
More than 25 years of observing human performance.
My work draws from more than 25 years across psychology, human performance, fitness and wellness, corporate leadership, communication, behavioral change, and the study of what people do under pressure.
I've built and led workplace wellness initiatives, worked privately with executives and professionals, advised people through leadership and communication challenges, helped individuals change deeply established behavioral patterns, and developed the body of work I call Human Patterns Under Pressure.
I am also an author, speaker, and host of The Kathie Owen Perspective, where I explore leadership, human behavior, non-attachment, pressure, emotional regulation, Reality Transurfing, and the patterns shaping the decisions we make.
My work has taught me something important:
Expertise tells us what should be happening. Observation helps us see what actually is.
And what is actually happening is where I prefer to begin.
A few examples of the work
The outcomes of this work don't always fit neatly into conventional consulting metrics.
Sometimes success is an executive recognizing the pattern that has been undermining their influence.
Sometimes it's a leader entering a difficult conversation differently.
Sometimes it's identifying a human risk before an organization builds a strategy around it.
Sometimes it's helping someone stop solving the wrong problem.
Sometimes it's a team finally naming what everyone has been compensating for but nobody has been willing to say.
And sometimes one observation changes the direction of everything that follows.
Clarity has value long before it becomes measurable.
Before you build another wellness initiative, let’s look at what your people actually need.
You may already have a wellness program. You may be trying to improve one. Or you may simply know that stress, engagement, leadership, performance, or workplace dynamics need attention.
We can start with a conversation.
I'll learn more about your organization, what you're observing, what you've already tried, and where the real opportunity may be.
If my work is relevant, we'll determine the next useful step from there.
