When we chose our major purpose or definite chief aim then we select an object of our controlled attention. People say, “Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.” But we have to put all our eggs in one basket and concentrate our attention to protect that basket.

Controlled attention is the process of directing our focus toward a desired end. It is an important aid for other success principles suggested by Napoleon Hill.

Whatever your dream, goal, or vision, controlled attention to your major purpose is extremely important. By focusing on controlled attention, you will condition your mind to attract only desired things and smartly eliminate distractions.

By having controlled attention, you can completely eliminate conflicting emotions like self-doubt, envy, greed, jealousy, and hatred. Hence, you will be in a better position to control your attention towards a definite major purpose.

Benjamin Franklin is known for his many accomplishments, including his development of a set of virtues that he used to guide his behavior and improve himself. One of the virtues he identified was "order," which he defined as "letting everything have its own place." This virtue is closely related to the idea of "controlled attention," as it requires the ability to focus one's attention on the task at hand, rather than allowing oneself to be distracted by other things.

I know this should be obvious for controlled attention but in today’s world of the web it is a tangled one indeed. Try using apps that help you keep disturbances to a minimum. Close unnecessary tabs on your computer. And even try working in a quiet workspace.

This is a time management method that involves breaking your work into short focused intervals (usually 25 minutes) with short breaks in between. This can help you stay focused and avoid burnout.

This technique is helpful in ending procrastination. It wil supercharge your workday routine. You'll be able to dive into deep flow-based work and create your ideal, distraction-free work environment.

Take regular breaks

It's important to give your brain a break so that it doesn't get tired. Take a short walk, stretch or do something completely different. Of course you know I am going to say this, “take a walk in nature.” This is a great reset button and a great way to keep that focus on track.

Where will your thinking path be? It will prove to be one of those good habits to get into on a regular basis and help you control that attention like a pro!
